Kerala is rich in its variety of food options it presents, be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian. One such beautiful delicacy is the “palappam”. Palappam goes by various name in the local, it is often called as Kerala appam or vellayappam. Whatever you call, rest assured this dish is absolutely delicious. And the cherry on top is that this is a really easy dish to make.
The ingredients needed are:
- Rice – 1 ½ cup (Soaked in water for 3 hours)
- Coconut – 1 cup
- Yeast – 1 ½ tbsp
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Boiled rice – 2 ½ tbsp
Grind all these ingredients except the salt well to form a smooth batter. Rest the batter for approximately 3 hours.
